Catalog overview

This catalog details the modular processing units available in the fluxrig ecosystem.

Native built-ins​

These gears are mature, optimized, and available for production use in the current core release.

  • Bento gear: Universal I/O using the mature Bento engine. The standard binary carries Pure Logic and Local I/O. Institutional connectors need a custom build.
  • ISO8583 I/O gear: TCP socket with length-prefixed framing.
  • TCP I/O gear: Generic TCP I/O with delimiter-based framing (ingress/egress).
  • ISO8583 codec gear: Standardized parser for ISO8583 financial dialects.
  • Coat Check gear: Implements the "detached state" pattern for asynchronous correlation.
  • Wasm logic gear: User-defined logic extensions via WebAssembly. The Filter role is available today. Polyglot source gears are roadmap.
  • Conductor gear: Transaction switching, connection routing plus reply correlation over the valet ticket store. It generalizes the Coat Check.
  • ISO 20022 codec gear: ISO 20022 XML to a structured fluxMsg and back, driven by a protocol spec. The first profile is rtp, for the RTP network of The Clearing House.
  • Translate gear: Translates a message between two protocol specs, alias to alias, as a translation spec says.

Commercial gears​

A separate licence covers these gears: the Business Source License 1.1. The source is source-available: free to read, and free to use outside production. Production use, including your own traffic, needs a commercial licence. See the enterprise offering for what that means in practice.

  • sim_source gear: Deterministic ISO8583 traffic generator, driven by a spec's simulation section.
  • sim_responder gear: Authorizer simulator with spec-derived responses and conditional decline rules.
  • sim_validator gear [Roadmap]: Companion to sim_source. It correlates, checks and measures the replies to generated traffic.

Roadmap​

These gears are currently in the Architectural Proposal or Early Beta phase.
